Happy Halloween

We started the weekend off carving pumpkins. Luke likes to supervise. At first Joseph didn't really like the pulp but then decided it was fun to stick his hand in and grab some. He also liked getting the seeds out. Luke designed the face on paper and Jeremy and I managed to cut it out.

Luke started the afternoon off with a party at a classmates. It was fun watching lots of little boys playing and running around in costumes. They even made each other into mummies. We then raced home to have our annual Halloween chili dinner and trick or treating. We have done this since the older kids were babies. Our group has grown in age and numbers. Some of our dear friends moved this summer, which we missed terribly. Some more friends joined us. It is hard to get all of them to look at us and smile at the same time. Mickey Mouse decided that the bikes were more fun than the pictures and rode off. Maybe next year.

Sir Luke and Woody riding Buckeye are ready to go. I sent Jeremy and the boys while I stayed home to pass out candy. Jeremy said he had a hard time keeping up with Luke but could see Luke several houses down. Joseph figured it out a few houses in and loved it. The sugar high hit hard at bedtime. It was a challenge to get costumes off and (mainly Joseph) them into bed. All in all it was a wonderful Halloween.
