Basement

The basement is done. As you can see in the before basement pictures, it was very scary down there with mold and water damage. Jeremy helped gut the entire thing, rip out carpet and clean all the mold off. After waiting a couple months to see if the mold would return, which it didn't, we started finishing it. It went from a dark and dingy hangout with a bar area to a bright and warm den with a toy nook. We spent most of last night moving furniture and toys down there. The boys and I will be down stairs all day today playing. Joseph had the best time rolling around and crawling without any restrictions. Luke asked if it could be his bedroom. I am so happy to have this space finished and that the boys love it.
Bar area

Old broken window that had mold all around it.
After pictures! Much better!
New Windows

The fireplace which has been scrubbed several times. We will be getting a door very soon. I have already pulled Joseph out. For now the baby gate will have to do.
The stairs which had carpet on them. Jeremy ripped the carpet up and we both pulled thousands of staples out. They need to be cleaned but other than that are in really good shape.
The boys toy nook. The gingerbread door goes to the storage area.

Joseph was claiming his area.
Another update: the front doors are finished. They were stained and Jeremy and I painted the trim. We are very pleased with the outcome.
