Almost 6 years ago, I walked into St. Joseph East to have a baby. Once I was checked in, we heard the couple across the hall, Mike and Raegan, rejoice in the birth of their little girl, Mallaney. Little did I know than that they would become dear friends. We have gotten to know Mike and Raegan through church, small groups, bible studies, play groups and as neighbors. Mallaney and Luke are birthday buddies, school buddies and good friends. Almost 3 years ago they had a son, Max who is Joseph age. This spring they adopted a son, 18 month old Theo from The Congo. Raegan made the trip to Africa and brought him home in February and March. It has been a fun 6 years watching our children grow and make the best of friends.
This week, Theo was hospitalized and diagnosed with leukemia. He has started treatments and will be in the hospital for 6 months. Please pray that God would heal Theo, be with Mike and Raegan as they learn more about his condition and treatments, juggle work, household and three small children. Please pray for their comfort in God and trust in him.
