Vacation

We went to Heber Springs, Arkansas to visit Sarah, Jeffrey and Baby Hayes. We had a pleasant and relaxing time. After playing a few days there, we went to Oxford to visit my family and get ready for Hayes to come home. Luke did really well with the new baby until we told him he was going to have a baby sibling soon. He exclaimed, "No Baby!" It took him a day to warm back up to Hayes, but only if Aunt Sarah was holding him.

Hello, Baby Hayes. Nice to meet you.

Luke loves pushing Jeremy into the pool. Again Daddy!

Luke's puppies, Sipsey and Moe

Jeremy was getting practice. It's like riding a bike.
Out of the swaddle and moving all around.
Happy Drunk Hayes!
Hayes liked laying on my belly. He said I have a lot of cushion. Soon the belly will be gone and his little cousin will be here to play.

The girls went to Taylor for lunch. Luke was lucky enough to go with us. As you can see, he was not very happy being the only boy. Where's Hayes? He found the dog house at the Southern Living Idea House. This was a cool place within which he hid and played.

One of Luke's favorite places in Oxford is Square Books Jr. He rides in this truck every time. Sitting in this truck was the first time Luke pulled himself up from a sitting position when he was about 9 months old.
I decided that it would be fun to have Luke help ice Jeremy's birthday cake. It was fun, but a huge mess. It started out clean until Luke tasted the icing.

After cleaning up and changing clothes, Luke helped blow out the candles. He thinks that every birthday is his. He helped open presents. He was very upset that the shirt didn't fit him and that Jeremy put it on. We celebrated Nebo's birthday the next day, which was too much fun for Luke.

Luke took his first fishing trip with Jeremy and Nebo. He caught his first first, somehow. Jeremy said he was laying on the ground flinging his pole in and out of the water and somehow snagged a fish. But it counts, right? Luke was very excited and reeled it in by himself. My little boy is scared of bugs and wouldn't touch the crickets, but had no problem picking up the fish and throwing it back into the water.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time visiting and playing with my family. Luke loved playing at the park, Square Books, Jr, swimming, playing in the rain, fishing, skinny dipping, celebrating birthdays and, of course, being the center of attention (at least when Hayes was not around). He shared his spot light with Hayes and he is doing OK with it. He has a few more months as an only child. Wish us luck in November.

Beach Trip

Beach Trip! We went to Perdido, FL with the Sloan crew. This was Luke's real first trip to the beach. After a 2 day car trip, we unloaded the car and immediately went down to the beach. All of it was so new and fun. Luke loved the water and dumping sand on his head. He also loved running up to the boardwalk and spraying off with the hose. We had lots of fun and new adventures so lots of pictures.

Bucket head!

Building sandcastles with Reese and Nebo. It was more fun to crash the castles with my shovel.

Nebo taught Luke how to fly kites. It was a seagull. Luke had to "put the bird in the air" everyday.

Reese and Luke washed and counting all his shells.

Uncle Jeffrey taught me how to drive the boat. Luke is the future captain.

There are more pictures to come!
